Moot Court

Moot Court Society is an organization formed under the aegis of PIMR Department of Law. It comprises faculty members and students and aims at enhancing the practical legal skills and knowledge of aspiring lawyers. Moot court is a simulated courtroom setting where students engage in mock trials and appellate arguments. It plays a vital role in supplementing students’ legal education by offering practical experiences, honing their advocacy skills, and preparing them for the demands of the legal profession. It fosters an environment of learning, teamwork, and professionalism, contributing significantly to the development of future lawyers.

Students learn how to research legal issues, prepare arguments, and present their cases effectively. This helps them develop essential skills such as oral and written advocacy, legal reasoning, and public speaking.

It enables students delve deep into legal research, analyze cases, statutes, and precedents to support their arguments. This experience strengthens their research abilities, which are vital for a successful legal career.

The society organizes mock trials that mimic real courtroom proceedings. Students play the roles of lawyers and witnesses, and gain insights of courtroom procedures and strategies.

Many Moot Court competitions involve appellate advocacy, where students argue before a panel of judges. This fosters a deep understanding of the appellate process and construction of compelling legal arguments.

Moot Court Societies often prepare student teams to participate in national and international moot court competitions (through National Moot Court Competition Core Committee), Client Counselling Competitions and other events of advocacy importance. These events provide exposure to different legal systems and allow students to test their skills against peers from other institutions.

Moot Court Society engages in organizing workshops to train students for Memorial research writing, trail advocacy, client counselling competitions to hone not only their argumentative skills but also research writing skills.

Membership in the Moot Court Society offers opportunities to network with legal professionals, including judges, practicing lawyers, and alumni which is beneficial for future career prospects.

Students also gain insights into legal ethics and professionalism, as they must adhere to ethical standards and codes of conduct during moot court activities.

Green House

We in Prestige are thoughtful of preserving the goodness of Mother Earth. We take all care not to harm the ecology and do our best to help the environment to be clean on our part. As an endeavor we have created a “Green House” which is a covered entity at our Under Graduate Campus.

The enclosure consists of plants in pots to educate our students the importance of a green planet.

We have divided the Green House majorly into three categories:
1. Plants approved by UNO.
2. Plants that give more Oxygen and may be kept indoors.
3. Plants having medicinal and healing properties like Aloe Vera, Turmeric, Neem etc.

Our students can visit the greenhouse anytime and see them and help themselves to acquire knowledge about such planet-friendly living friends who cannot move yet and who take so much care of us.
