The Prestige Institute of Management and Research (PIMR) has recently expanded its focus
beyond academic excellence by inaugurating the Prestige Sports Club in May 2023, under the
guidance of former Indian hockey player Shri Mir Ranjan Negi. This initiative has significantly
boosted sports activities across all PIMR campuses in Indore, engaging both boys and girls in
various sports disciplines.
In the DAVV Sports Championship held from September to December 2023, PIMR students
demonstrated exceptional skills and teamwork. The Boys’ Badminton and Basketball Teams
reached the semi-finals, while the Girls’ Basketball Team and the Cricket Team made it to the
quarter-finals. Additionally, individual students achieved remarkable success: Sanjana Dubey
represented DAVV in basketball at state and national levels, Bumika Sahukar secured first place
in state-level table tennis, Akarsh Tandon won the state-level chess tournament, Gunit Singh
represented DAVV in powerlifting at state and national levels, and Tanishq Paliwal earned a
medal in state-level weightlifting. Dr. Avni Trivedi, a faculty member, won the MP State chess
championship.
PIMR campuses hosted several sports events, including SPARDHA at the PG Campus,
USTAAH at the Law Campus, and JOSTAV at the UG Campus on April 5, 2024. These events
featured various sports such as Chess, Carrom, Table Tennis, Badminton, Football, Volleyball,
Cricket, Kabaddi, and Basketball, attracting over 177 participants. Esteemed sports personalities,
including Shri Mir Ranjan Negi, attended these events and honored the winners with medals,
trophies, and certificates. The Prestige Challenge Matches followed JOSTAV, with teams from
colleges across Indore, Ujjain, Mhow, and Khadwa competing. The first match on May 5, 2024,
highlighted Prestige Campus as a center of both academic and athletic excellence. Dr. Davish
Jain, Chancellor of Prestige University, praised the efforts and pledged ongoing support for the
sports initiatives.
