Report on 20th International Conference on “Redefining Business Transformation: Human-Machine Synergy in the Era of Industry 5.0″

The Prestige Institute of Management and Research (PIMR), Indore, successfully hosted the 20th edition of its flagship International Conference, PICOM 2025, on February 22-23, 2025. The two-day conference served as a distinguished platform for academicians, industry experts, and research scholars to deliberate on the evolving interplay between human intelligence and technological advancements in the era of Industry 5.0. For the first time, more than 300 research papers were presented, received from across 15+ states in India and 6+ countries, reflecting the conference’s growing global significance. The conference was meticulously coordinated under the guidance of Conference Convenor Dr. Ajit Upadhyaya, along with Dr. Pratima Jain, Dr. Prayatna Jain, Dr. Nandan Velankar, and Dr. Sukhjeet Matharu, whose relentless efforts ensured the event’s seamless execution.

The event commenced with the Inaugural Ceremony, where Dr. S.S. Bhakar, Group Director, PIMR Indore, delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the need for a harmonious synergy between human creativity and machine intelligence to drive business transformation. Dr. Davish Jain, Chairman of Prestige Education Foundation, shared Prestige Group’s vision of imparting high-quality education aligned with global standards, fostering research-driven learning, and enhancing academia-industry collaborations. He also emphasized how Industry 5.0 is revolutionizing businesses and urged researchers to explore its broader societal implications. The ceremony also witnesses the release of 3 status papers crafted by the PIMR Faculty members on the conference theme.
The ChiefGuest, Prof.(Dr.)ArpanBhardwaj, Vice Chancellorof Vikram University, Ujjain,emphasized the significance of academic and research conferences in fostering innovation and shaping the future of business and technology. He appreciated PIMR’s consistent efforts in organizing this prestigious conference for 20 consecutive years, stating that such forums play a crucial role in bridging the gap between industry and academia. He was particularly surprised and impressed to learn that PIMR successfully conducted an e- conference even during the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring that knowledge-sharing and academic discourse continued despite global challenges.
Following the Inaugural Ceremony, a Research Conclave (Workshop) was conducted, featuring insightful discussions on academic publishing and research ethics. Dr. Justin Paul delivered an enriching session on how to publish research papers in high-indexed journals, providing valuable insights into structuring manuscripts for top-tier publications. Dr. Sumit Narula, an expert in research ethics and journal indexing, spoke about how to identify clone and predatory journals, cautioning researchers against misleading publication avenues and guiding them toward credible publishing practices.
The keynote addresses brought insightful perspectives from thought leaders across industries. Mr. Siddharth Rajhans, Diplomat, Professor, and Global Envoy, elaborated on how AI and automation are reshaping international trade and education, emphasizing the importance of cross-border collaborations. Mr. Ajay Sevekari, Managing Director at Prospira (Formerly Bridgestone India Automotive Products Pvt. Ltd.), spoke about the challenges and opportunities presented by automation, particularly in improving operational efficiency while maintaining workforce engagement. Mr. Sahil Nayar, Senior Associate Director at KPMG India, commended PIMR’s warm hospitality and meticulous event execution, stating that the seamless coordination reflected the institution’s dedication to excellence. Several other dignitaries and speakers lauded the hospitality and professionalism of the core organizing team, recognizing their efforts in ensuring an impactful conference.
Day 2 Highlights
The second day of PICOM 2025 commenced with research paper presentations, where top academicians, professors, and directors from renowned institutes served as session chairs, ensuring high-quality discussions and feedback. For the first time the international conference witnessed remarkable participation, with a total of 305 research papers received and over 350 registered participants. Representing a diverse academic and research community, the event saw participation from more than 100 institutions across India and 40 session chairs. Contributions came from over 18 states, including Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Kerala, Rajasthan, Assam, and Delhi-NCR, among others. Additionally, the conference had a strong global presence, with representatives from eight countries, including Vietnam, the USA, the UK, Dubai, Bangladesh, and Canada. The event featured more than 20 distinguished speakers from industries and academia, along with 20 technical sessions, including three dedicated student tracks. Over 200 research papers
were presented, further enriching the discourse. The conference also included a Best PhD Thesis Contest, adding to its academic rigor and excellence
The conference culminated in a grand Valedictory Ceremony, where Dr.Davish Jain once again addressed the gathering, commending the remarkable discussions and research contributions. The Young Leader Award 2025 was presented to Mr. Shalabh Chaturvedi, Managing Director, India & SAARC region – CASE Construction Equipment CNH Industrial, for his leadership in business transformation. The Outstanding Alumnus Award was conferred upon Mr. Devesh Mohan, Director-GSI Sales & Leadership Coach, recognizing his outstanding contributions to corporate leadership. The Outstanding Space Scientist Award was presented to Mr. Shiv Mohan, Ex-Senior Scientist, ISRO and Educationist, for his remarkable advancements in space science and technology. During the ceremony, a gold medal was awarded to the meritorious students of all the courses. CA Arpit Jain, CEO of Arihant Capital Markets Ltd., delivered an insightful address on financial strategies for businesses adapting to AI-driven automation.
The release of the Conference Book and Souvenir marked another milestone, encapsulating the essence of the event through research abstracts, expert opinions, and conference highlights. Concluding remarks in the form of a Conference Report was presented by CS Dr. Pratima Jain, Organising Secretary of the Conference. Additionally, the brochure for PICOM-2026 was unveiled, setting the groundwork for the next edition of this prestigious conference.
The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr. S. Raman Iyer (Inaugural Ceremony) and Dr. Ajit Upadhyaya (Valedictory Ceremony), extending gratitude to the distinguished guests, research scholars, sponsors, and the entire organizing committee. The event concluded with a group photograph, followed by Hi-Tea, symbolizing the end of a truly enriching and successful conference.
