PIMR Outstanding Alumnus Award
Alumni of an institute are not only a parameter of the success of any institute, they are also the flag bearers of the learning, values and attitudes inculcated in them by the institute. Every year, PIMR identifies and felicitates its alumni, who have proven themselves in various walks of life, with PIMR Outstanding Alumnus Award. The award is conferred during the International Conference, in which the alumnus shares his journey with the institute and the current batch of students, and provides a platform where the students can learn from their senior alums and can get inspiration.
I would like to pen down my thoughts today, on Teacher’s day. I recall the great journey we had at PIMR which helped us shape our future. Our gurus who exposed us to the world of management, nurtured our thoughts and helped us be a better human. We owe our success to this incubation machine called PIMR. We wish our best to all who follow us in this academic journey.

To be the student of the first batch of MBA (Full Time), the excitement and bonding was tremendous. The institute hired best faculty and offered us lots of learning opportunities including external faculty for evening lectures and OJTs with numerous industry visits. The list is long and helped a lot in self-development as a true management professional. Being one of the Placement Coordinators, I learnt a lot of network skills, which are now boon to my successful sales and marketing career.

I was fortunate and privileged to be a part of the 1st batch of BBA ( 1994-97) and also to be in the august company of a revered faculty. The time I spent with PIMR has helped immensely not only in the professional space but, in the life at large, as well. Embracing success and failure with equal poise was one learning that I clearly imbibed from my stint with PIMR. Cannot thank PIMR enough for the huge role they continue to play in shaping the future of all the aspirants, just like they did for me 26 years ago.

The BBA program first stood out to me because the professors and students come from a variety of backgrounds, and I believe that this leads to valuable insights. I was able to learn about all kinds of businesses and national cultures through both course content and my peers. I was a science student before I joined my under graduate course and there was a bit fear that how I would be able to manage the course. To my delight, the pedagogy was at its best and the teachers took personal interests to train their wards like me who had no knowledge of business studies. By the time I was in sophomore there was no fear and I was ready to be a part of corporate world.

I can vividly recall my three amazing years in PIMR and in the lovely city of Indore. PIMR was established in 1994 – I was the part of the founding batch of BBA. For me coming to Indore was big decision, away from my parents for the first time, new city, new institution. When I look back now, those were probably the most beautiful years. My three years at PIMR has shaped my independent and critical thinking. Not only I have learnt the tricks of the business during my BBA, but I was able to apply by starting a small business from the ‘drawing room’ of our flat. The business failed but we learnt the most important life lessons. All the founders of that startup are now top executives of the country.
I am thankful to the staff and faculty members of PIMR for equipping me with the skills that
I still use today. And I am thankful for all my friends for keeping the bond together for last 25 years.

It is like going down the memory lane and refreshing some great moments of my college life at PIMR. The warmth and passion of the founder Shri NN Jain Sir was the reason behind the success of the institute and the students. Right from infrastructure to faculty to any academic requirements, all were chosen and provided in the best way. The commitment to provide quality education and an environment of learning was a phenomenon and we are reaping the benefits in our professional domain. One distinctive feature which I enjoyed the most and helped me learn and excel was the openness and accessibility to all resources of the college, especially the faculty members were very welcoming and friendly to a great extent for all our academic requests.The vision to make it an institute of excellence was always there which was reflected since beginning, and it’s very apropos to say here that “ A small step is a giant leap” .I am fortunate to have graduated from PIMR and owe all my success so far to the institute.
