Placement Preparatory Sessions from August 27, 2024 to September 10, 2024

The Student Development Cell recently conducted Placement Preparatory Sessions from August 27, 2024 to September 10, 2024 for students of MBA III Semester who opted finance, marketing, and HR as their major specialization. The purpose of these sessions was to enhance their knowledge and skills in these domains. Industry experts were invited to conduct these sessions, aiming to prepare students for placements and future careers in their respective fields.

In the Finance Session, students were provided with a comprehensive understanding of financial statements, including different types of costs and profits, the basics of balance sheets and cash flows, and the most important cash flows for organizations. Additionally, the session covered various crucial ratios such as profitability return, liquidity ratio, current ratio, quick ratio, and solvency ratio. The basics of corporate tax, including concepts such as bond valuation, net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR), and valuation methods like discounted cash flow (DCF) and dividend discount model (DDM) were extensively covered, providing students with a strong foundation in financial concepts.

The Marketing Session included in-depth explanations of essential concepts such as GTM (Go-To-Market), USP (Unique Selling Proposition), RPD, positioning, the 7 P’s of marketing, distribution channels, pricing strategies, unique product lines, modern trade, cash management, minimum build quality, order quantity, planograms, and various distribution metrics. The session also delved into stock management, credit, and claims, equipping students with practical knowledge and strategies for effective marketing practices.

The HR Session covered vital topics such as manpower planning, job description preparation, essential traits of HR professionals, strategic HR and the importance of data, HR operations including record-keeping and onboarding processes, HR analytics and metrics, training and development, compensation and benefits, as well as statutory laws and compliance including the Factories Act, Employee Provident Fund, Employee State Insurance, Minimum Wages Act, Payment of Gratuity Act, Industrial Dispute Act, and Bonus Act. These sessions provided students with a holistic understanding of the diverse facets of human resources management and the legal framework governing it.

Overall, the sessions provided students with valuable insights and knowledge essential for their future careers in finance, marketing, and HR, empowering them to make informed decisions and excel in their chosen fields. The practical and industry-relevant nature of these sessions has undoubtedly contributed to the holistic development and preparedness of the students for the professional world
