This is a unique feature of the Institute that provides opportunity to each faculty member to share his/her thoughts and academic views. Academic forums are held every fortnight to arouse and sustain academic ambience in the Institute
The Institute is developing a Case Bank for facilitating the faculty in procuring cases on various topics. Besides having a collection of 593 cases from various sources, it also includes the cases for classroom teaching and training programs developed by the faculty of the Institute.
PIMR has a Faculty Club as well as a Staff Club, which celebrate birthdays and organize farewell parties and outings to facilitate the development of fraternity amongst all members of the PIMR Family. The employees of the Institute are sensitive to social issues, and have always come forward at the time of national disasters and calamities. They voluntarily donated one day's salary towards Mumbai Deluge Relief Fund, Tsunami Relief Fund, Gujarat Earthquake Relief Fund, Orissa Relief Fund, Chennai Flood Relief Fund in the past.
The Institute regularly organizes various cultural and social activities. Functions like Independence Day and Republic Day are celebrated by students, faculty and staff members with patriotic zeal. Sports Competitions, Quiz, Antakshari etc. are some of the regular co-curricular and extra- curricular activities of the Institute. To promote Indian culture amongst youth, some of the programs organized in association with SPIC-MACAY are as under :
SPIC MACAY (Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth) is a voluntary non-profit movement founded in the year 1977 by dedicated academicians and students. It seeks to conserve and promote Indian culture and introduce the rich and heterogeneous cultural tapestry to the youth of this country. Through focus on the classical arts, with their attendant legends, rituals, mythology, and philosophy, SPIC MACAY seeks to facilitate an awareness of their deeper and subtler meaning and values.
To promote Indian culture among youth, some of the programs used to organized in association with SPIC-MACAY:-
Prestige Institute of Management and Research, Indore organized an 'INDIAN CLASSICAL MUSIC CONCERT' in collaboration with SPIC-MACAY. The occasion was demonstrated by Pandit Raja Kale, renowned Vocalist accompanied by Shri Anil Moghe renowned Tabla maestro, and Shri Shyam Joshi, renowned Harmonium maestro. Pandit Raja Kale is Ph.D in Music and has performed in many prestigious music festivals in India and abroad. The concert was organised on January 22, 2016 at 2.00 p.m. and 187 students, vice chairman, director and faculties of PIMR were present to attend the concert. Students learnt about Raga Malkos, and Darbari. The programme concluded with recitation of 'Mile sur mera tumhara...........'
Under the aegis of Prestige Institute of Management and Research, Indore with The Spic Macay organized a 'FLUTE RECITAL' on August 4th 2015 at 2.00 pm. The artist was Shri Shashank Subramaniam, a Grammy award winner of the Bamboo Flute. He connected Flute with the modern music, and Shri Parupalli Phalgun on Mridumgam accompanied him. He also covered the history and features of bamboo flute and uses of different sizes of flute for variations of Ragas.
The institute has also organized a musical instruments performance by Dr. Kamala Shankar in collaboration with SPIC-MACAY on 5th February 2015.
The Institute has organized a Musical event in collaboration with SPIC-MACAY on September 19th, 2014. The artists was Dr. Dhanajay Daithaneker accompanied by Shri Ulhas Rajhans on Tabla.
Rotary International has given Charter to install Rotaract Club in the Institute to provide opportunity to the students of PIMR to serve the society in general and weaker sections in particular and carry out programs to maintain the ecological balance. The PIMR Rotaract Club was adjudged as the Best Rotaract Club of the Rotary District 3040 for the year 2004-05. It organizes various activities like Blood Donation Camp; and Rose Day and Chocolate Day to raise funds which is donated for noble cause.
PIMR Rotaract Club Oath Taking Ceremony was held on 30 th September 2015 at the Convention Hall, Prestige Institute of Management Indore PG Campus. The ceremony was officiated by Indore Uptown’s President Rotarain Mr. Abhay Geed and Honorary, Chief Guest and Installation Officer District Governor Rotarain Mr. Sanjeev Gupta, and PIMR UG Director Dr. R. K.Sharma.
PIMR ROTARACT CLUB in Association with Shallby Hospital, Indore Organized One Day free Health Check Up Camp on 8th March 2016 in the premises of the institute for all faculty and staff members and students of PIMR.
PIMR Rotaract Club organized free Eye Check Up Camp for faculty and staff members and students of the institute on January 22th, 2016. The camp was organized with LAWRENCE & MAYO Eye Care Clinic.
On the 26th of October 2015, the students of PIMR Rotaract Club staged a Nukkar Natak in “Paridhan Week”. It was an attempt to create awareness on Women Empowerment.
PIMR Rotaract Club also takes initiative for Poor and Needy people. The club ran a drive for Cloth and Toys Donation from September 22nd to 30th 2015, and Collected huge numbers of toys and Clothes for children and adults and distributed the same to needy people in slum area.
PIMR ROTARACT CLUB has organized Tree Plantation Day on August 10, 2015 at the premises of Prestige Institute of Management and Research, (Department of Law) Indore.
Tree plantation activity was conducted on 9 October 2014.Free eye check up was organized on 30th March, 2015. Blood donation camp was organized on 31st March 2015; free skin and hair camp was organized on 1st April 2015. Other activities in 2014-15 includes donation at Aastha Vriddhajan Sewa Aashram, and Chocolate stall for Yatna Foundation ,a NGO for Blind students Technical Education.
On March 1, 2011, PIMR organized "Chocolate Day celebration" for faculty and students. The event was an amalgamation of enjoyment and social cause. Through this activity an amount of INR 6850 was collected on this occasion and was given to the PIMR Rotract Club which will be further used for a noble cause.
On February 12, 2011 Under the aegis of PIMR Rotary Club the Institute organized Rotract Friendship Exchange Program with UK 1220 Chapter. On this occasion an amount of Rs 10,000 was donated to Sanjeevani Seva Sansthan, Indore for new born children’s welfare.
On November 19, 2010,National Communal Harmaony day was celebrated and sticker flags were sold and an amount of INR 2420 was generated.
On September 5, 2010, Teachers day was celebrated and a sum of INR 3000 was donated to UNICEF.Also the students of Future Foundation(An NGO) were invited to attend the same program and they were donated stationary set.Also lunch was provided to them.
On August 15, 2010, Independence day was celebrated, dance programmes of deaf students of Sanjivni Sewa Sangam Sansthan were organized in Prestige Campus and a sum of rs.18000 was donated for hearing aids,also 34 buckets were donated to Mahesh Drishtiheen Kalyaan Sangh for their blind female students.
On January 26, 2010 Republic Day was celebrated by the Club and a sum of Rs. 4000 was generated for Rotaract Club of PIMR, Indore through the sale of flags and bands.
The Institute organized an Installation ceremony (OATH ceremony) for the member of Rotaract Club of up town PIMR on November 6, 2009. Rotract Club members took OATH that they will work devotedly and commitedly for the development and upliftment of the society and that they will abide by the principles of Rotaract club.
The PIMR Rotaract Club, in association with the Rotary Club of Indore – Uptown had organized a ROTARACT FETE. The Fete included stalls on various themes and games being setup by the students, snack and food stalls, DJ arrangement and fun activities for the entertainment of the students.
PIMR Rotaract club under the aegis of Prestige Institute of Management and Research, Indore conducted a workshop on Swine Flu awareness on 17th August 2009. Dr. Deepak Bansal MD Medicine, DTCD (Delhi), Consultant Chest Physician and Bronchoscopist, Bombay Hospital, Indore delivered an informative lecture on Swine Flu awareness.
The SOCH (Entrepreneurship Cell), firmly believes that emerging economies like India need the drive and innovation of young entrepreneurs. The Cell therefore aims at manifesting the latent Entrepreneurial spirit of the youth. The Cell not only motivates the youth to start-up their own enterprise, but also makes efforts to provide them with the necessary resources to do so.
Our institute believes in overall grooming of a candidate as far as his professional career is concerned so they have started various clubs in the area of specialization like Marketing, HR, Finance, IT and Economics. This clubs focus on building the bridge between the concepts and applications so that students can understand the practical application as well as implication of various classroom theories into real life environment.
Objective of PIMR NSS UNIT is Personality Development through Social Service. NSS self Finance UNIT was incepted in PIMR on 14 January 2014. NSS UNIT organized Yoga and Meditation camp for students and faculties on 22-24 September 2015. It celebrated NSS Orientation Day on 17th September 2015. Yoga and Meditation camp was organized by NSS UNIT on 24-28 Feburary 2014. Blood Donation camp was organized on 8th March 2014. NSS PIMR UNIT organized Eye Donation Pledge Day on 20th April 2014.
E-Shakti Abhiyaan is an initiative by Madhya Pradesh Agency For Promotion Of Information Technology (MAP_IT) - A Regd. Society of Govt Of MP - Under Department Of Science & Technology in collaboration with Bharti Airtel Ltd (Airtel) and Prestige Institute of Management and Research, Indore. The initiative aims at building internet literacy and access among women of Madhya Pradesh.
Women working with various government departments like Health, Anganwadi, Gram Panchayat, Women and Child Development, Agriculture, Education etc. and girl students of Government Schools and Colleges are invited by the respective District eGovernance Society to attend the training sessions.
Every day, 3 sessions of 90 minutes each have to be conducted at various venues assigned by the District e-Governance Team at Block locations. The District eGovernance Society prepares the training schedule and invites women to attend the training.
The responsibility of training delivery lies with the trainers appointed by Bharti Airtel i.e. the student volunteers of Prestige Institute of Management & Research Indore. The 90-minutes training session focuses on the basics of internet, prospective use and benefits of internet for women, awareness on various government portals, introduction to apps and introduction to social media. The training is complimented by LIVE demos and videos in Hindi, making the training more attractive.
The objective of the training is to effectively tackle the obstacles and barriers which keep the women away from internet usage.
At the end of each training session, women are provided an option of obtaining 100 MB free internet on their own handset for a period of 7 days so that they may obtain a live experience of internet. Women also have the option of acquiring free E-Shakti SIMs which are made available at the training session.
