PIMR organizes Conferences, Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) and Workshops to update faculty members about current developments in the field of Management, Law, Arts and Sciences. They focus on enhancing skills and expertise of the faculty in their respective domain and improving classroom delivery.

International Conference

PIMR organizes International Conferences annually to provide a platform for the academicians, researchers, industry professionals and students to share their views on contemporary management issues. Nineteenth International Conference on Changing Business Paradigms: Trends in Innovation, Governance, and Sustainability: PICOM-24, was organized on February 23-24, 2024. The conference was a vibrant, knowledge-sharing and thought provoking platform for various bodies of knowledge converging on a single platform. The Conference was inaugurated by His Excellency Mr. Shiekh Mansoor Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Chairman, MBK Holding, Qatar and other luminaries Mr. B. S. Nagesh, Founder TRRAIN, Chairman Shoppers Stop; Mr. Siddharth Rajhans, Principal Policy Officer, UN; Mr. Avinash Deshpande, Executive Director, MBK Holdings, Qatar; Mr. Siddharth Adhikari, DGM, Circle Head, Punjab National Bank; Dr. Indrajit Goswami, Professor, Alliance School of Business, Alliance University and Mr. Kushagra Sharan, AIRS Fellow, Ph. D Scholar IIM Kozhikode along with Chairman of Prestige Education Foundation Dr. Davish Jain. On the second day of the conference, Dr. P. K. Singh, Director, IIM, Trichy; Dr. Prashant Mishra, Professor, IIM, Calcutta; Dr. Saumen Chattopadhyay, Economist & Professor JNU and Dr. Renu Jain, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, DAVV shared their words of wisdom with the gathering.

Design Thinking Workshop

The Institute has introduced Design Thinking Course to map the new age dermand of business organisations. Design thinking includes the abilities to resolve ill-defined, unusual problems, adopt solution-focused strategies, use productive reasoning, and employ non-verbal, graphic/spatial modelling media, for example, sketching, and prototyping

The first Design Thinking Training Workshop was organised on October 15-16, 2022. The workshop was conducted by seasoned and experienced Design Thinking Trainer, Mr. Uday Gharpure. The Workshop was organized to develop skilled trainers and facilitators and train faculty members to utilise the Design Thinking concepts in their respective disciplines along with teaching and delivering Design Thinking as a subject.

FDPs and Workshops

Dr. Indrajit Goswami during Research Conclave

Research Conclave

The Institute organized a Research Conclave on February 23, 2024. Dr. Indrajit Goswami, Professor, Alliance School of Business, Alliance University and Mr. Kushagra Sharan, AIRS Fellow, PhD Scholar IIM Kozhikode, BE, BITS as session experts shared their expertise on “Mixed Methods Research” & “How to crack ABDC?” respectively. Dr. Goswami talked about role and importance of qualitative and quantitative methods and how to blend them in research. With his rich experience, he emphasized the need and application of these methods. On the other hand, Mr. Sharan shared his expertise on “How to make an effective research” He emphasized on importance of literature review and how to use softwares like Excel and R to arrange literature.

Workshop on Business Simulation

The Institute organized a four-day workshop on “How to teach Business Simulation” course to equip faculty members with the necessary skills and knowledge required to teach this subject during July 3-6, 2023. Prof. Dr. Ashok N. Ullal, Professor emeritus and former Dean of School of International Business, Reutlingen University, Germany trained the faculty members on how to use business simulations in class. Dr. Ullal, using his iBizSim: International Business Simulation, provided hands-on training on internal models in simulation.

Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Corporate Finance

The Institute organized a three-day FDP on “Corporate Finance” on February 22-24, 2023. Dr. Dennis Vink, an esteemed alumnus of Harvard Business School, served as the distinguished Resource Person, bringing forth his wealth of experience and insights into the realm of corporate finance. Utilizing a blend of hands-on practices and case-based methodologies, Dr. Vink adeptly guided the attendees through intricate financial scenarios, fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment. The event proved to be a resounding success, characterized by its high level of interactivity and educational value for both online and offline participants alike.

Design Thinking Workshop

The Institute organized Design Thinking Training Workshop on October 15-16, 2022 and subsequently on January 7, 2023. Mr. Uday Gharpure, a seasoned and experienced Design Thinking Trainer conducted this workshop. The workshop aimed at developing faculty members to utilise the Design Thinking concepts in their respective disciplines along with teaching and delivering Design Thinking as a subject. During the workshop, faculty members with appropriate design thinking tools and techniques for classroom teaching.

National Case Development Workshop

Management Research is a systematic process of gathering, recording and analysing data to facilitate the decision-making process. Applied research facilitates managerial decision-making and reduces uncertainty. It is an amalgamation of techniques and procedures that helps the researcher to know and understand the phenomena in focus. It connotes patient study and scientific investigation, wherein the researcher takes another, more careful look at data to discover all that can be known about the subject under study. 

PIMR in its endeavour to promote business research and encourage academicians and professionals to take up research activities organizes research methodology workshops. The workshop aims to explore the basic dimension of research and the need for scholars to rethink the assumptions that underline historic paradigms of research in the field of management. It is designed to provide participants with hands-on approach to conducting research. On completion of the workshop, participants would develop the skills to review the literature, develop hypotheses, frame research design, identify sampling techniques and comprehend the role and relevance of the tools for data collection and analysis.
